Kerri Velez
HR, Administration, and Filing
Kerri plays a key role in ensuring Safe Harbor Homecare runs smoothly and efficiently. She manages new hire documentation, maintains complete and compliant staff files, and provides support through phone reception, client intake, and walk-in assistance.
With experience as a Certified Home Health Aide and in nursing home administration, Kerri brings both empathy and structure to her work.
Her background as a restaurant manager for 15 years also strengthened her leadership and communication skills. Guided by the belief that we should never take anything for granted, Kerri finds her greatest joy in spending time with her family and helping Safe Harbor grow while ensuring every client and staff member feels supported.
Darlene Vaughan
Office Administrator
As Office Administrator, Darlene is the organizational backbone of Safe Harbor Homecare. She oversees client intake, manages phone communications, handles filing and scanning, and coordinates nursing schedules with care and precision. Her background in mental health and developmental disability services taught her the value of patience, compassion, and optimism—qualities she brings to every client and colleague interaction.
Darlene is deeply committed to helping Safe Harbor continue to grow and to making a positive difference in keeping clients safe and comfortable in their homes. Grounded in her faith, she cherishes every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Kerri Brown
Business Development Manager
Kerri Brown brings over a decade of experience in social work, care management, and community health to her role as Business Development Manager at Safe Harbor Homecare. With a strong background in MLTSS, integrated case management, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration, she helps bridge the gap between healthcare providers and families needing reliable home care services.
Kerri holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and is a Certified Social Worker (CSW). She is committed to supporting smooth, safe transitions from facilities to home and strengthening partnerships across New Jersey to ensure clients receive compassionate, high-quality care. She also strives to elevate the level of support provided within the community, ensuring that home care is delivered with the highest standards of compassion and quality.
Lauren Wilhide
Recruiting and Administrative Support
Lauren supports Safe Harbor’s administrative operations by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day processing needs. She works closely with the Administrator and office team to ensure that clients receive reliable care and that Home Health Aides are fully supported from the moment they apply.
Since beginning her career in in-home health care in 2015, Lauren has gained extensive experience working directly with clients and caregivers throughout the community. Her background helps her quickly identify strong candidates, strengthen office workflows, and maintain the high standards families expect.
What drives her is simple: the belief that even small actions can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. As she puts it, “Nothing brings me more joy than making a positive difference and impact each and every day.” She carries that mindset into every interaction, staying grounded, optimistic, and committed to helping others. In her personal life, Lauren tries to live by the philosophy: “We only get one life, so live it up!”
